And then there was one!

One beautiful girl left to find a home for! I can't believe how well these pups have done and what great homes they have gone to. I am hoping she goes soon as I don't want to get attached to her! If anyone need a fun little black lab girl......come and get her!

What a weekend!

Memorial Day weekend turned out to be a great weekend to get a puppy! We were able to place our black male with the green collar with a great family from Wyoming that we met in at Cabela's and then a gentleman from non other than OHIO who now lives in Nevada took our funny little girl black with the black collar. Yesterday although the weekend was officially over both Sage and black with the pink collar when home to their homes. We just have our other little male until the weekend when his new mommy is finished with school for the summer and can play with him.

Tired puppy

The pups had a busy day yesterday. It was Kayla's birthday so they were well loved and left out to play in the yard a lot. Today everyone will be getting their shots so I'd imagine they will be a little out of sorts afterwards.

And then there were six......

Our first puppy has officially gone off to it's new home. Dennis came out with his girlfriend last night and his 12 week old white lab pup Bella. Bella was in need of a playmate so they came and found our cute little "Lucy". She has found her permanent home in with her new family and is now Bella's sister "Gracie". It is such a cute name and we are so glad to have them take one of our pups. Good luck Gracie! And thanks again Dennis!

Ready to Go!

Pups are 5 weeks old now! Time has flown by. These little kids are gonna have to get out of here before they all steal my heart and have to stay. They are so active now, eating well. They will still nurse if they can catch their mom and if she will stand still for it. Our other dog Speedy seems to be the #1 baby sitter! She plays and plays with the pups. Their retrieving instincts are starting to show as well as their personalities developing. Call if you want to come and see them and maybe take one or two home! 2 Black males $325 and 3 Black females $375.

Not gonna stay!

After careful consideration and lots and lots of hard work and poop cleaning I decided that 3 dogs is not for me! So....this little angel will find a new home just like her brothers and sisters. The pups are now for sale on KSL. They will be ready in 2 weeks and are doing great at eating. We tried to keep pups and mom separated last night for the first time (they are only apart during the day) and Tony said he could hear Cabela crying about 3:00am. I'm sure that the pups were just as happy to see her as she was to see them when he got up and put her in the garage with them. It probably is a little early to separate them like that. Live and learn I guess! Here's a cute picture of the puppy now for sale with the others.

Bath Day!

Today was bath day. The pups had made a total mess of the whelping box and I am super crazy about keeping their environment clean soooo.......the box and surrounding area got a total clean up/wipe down/mop with bleach water and the puppies got a bath. Sage went to her own house to have hers (Wardles-next door are buying her) and everyone else came into the kitchen where the children and I had an assembly line ready. Kayla washed, I held for rinsing and then towel dried and Kade blow dried. After their baths they got to try out puppy formula for the first time and did great! They lapped it right up and went to town licking each other, the ground and everywhere else the milk got.

3 weeks old already!

The pups are super active now and starting to find their voices and explore their environment. Tony and the kids pulled all the pups out of the box out to play on the grass to explore.

Here's our girl! 3 weeks old and so beautiful. We are still deciding on her AKC registered name.

She's a keeper!

I haven't fully convinced Tony but I'm also hoping that it won't be hard to do! I have been thinking about it a lot and decided that I'd really like to keep the other white little girl. (one is already spoken for) We just love the white coat that the girls have gotten from their dad. It's absolutely beautiful. I figure since I'm the one that has to clean up all the POOP I should be able to keep one if I want, right? Anyhow, hopefully he see's it my way! If not, well.....we'll deal with that when it happens but for now, isn't she beautiful?

Sleeping Beauties

Here are the pups about a week and a half old. They lost their identities yesterday. (Their colored ribbons had to be cut off again and I didn't have anymore to replace them.) I wigged out for just a little bit and then I decided that they are all growing so well that I could chill out about who is eating when and such. Here's the girls and boys in a pile catching a nap!

Trip to the vet and almost a week old

Took the puppies to the vet on Thursday. They are all doing well and have had their dew claws removed. Cabela sat in the van for the trip which was a good thing because even I was a little sick when I could hear the babies cry from the waiting room! They were happy to nurse with their mom all the way home afterward. Cabela was grateful for a much needed break after we got home. She is starting to feel more comfortable away from the box to take a walk and get a little exercise. The puppies are getting fatter and longer. I had to resize their identification collars as the others were getting to small. They have started wagging their tails while they nurse now. It's the cutest thing.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! The Easter Bunny brought us puppies this year. Everyone is safe and warm. Cabela is a great mother. She is caring well for her puppies. We have had a couple of long nights checking on the pups and mom every two hours to make sure that we have everyone and that they are eating. The kids have jumped in and help during the daytime. Kayla has gotten quite good at counting heads, checking the temp of the whelping box, making sure that Cabela has food and water, putting the puppies up to nurse and giving Cabela lots of love! She has been a great help.

Puppies

They made it! Not just three but seven! Seven beautiful babies! Cabela is such a good mom. She did great delivering them and they are all healthy and happy. They are eating and growing. 2 yellow female, 3 black female, 2 black male. Here is Cabela the night before she delivered her pups.Cabela and puppies prior to the birth of the last black and the two yellows.Cabela and her pups right before the two yellow were born.

1/2 way there!

Here is a picture of our Cabela. She is doing great! We went to the vet and had the pregnancy confirmed. The vet could feel at least 3 golf ball sized lumps. That means there's at least 3 babies in there!

What a stud!

Here goes nothing....we've waited and pondered and made a decision. It's almost as bad as picking a husband for your daughter. Okay, not really. But a hard decision none-the-less. After much consideration we decided that Bronco was the guy for our girl. His owner is a guy named Tyler from Orem, Utah. Bronco is a yellow lab who through selective breeding is actually a bright white in color. He has had his hips and elbows certified and passed on his Junior Hunt tests.
